well what can i say- this machine is a dream to own and use. Originally i thought it too expensive to buy a gaggia but when i considered how much money i was spending on take away coffees per week then this is an absolute bargain. I bought this machine one month ago and have used it daily ever since. it makes the most delicious cappucinoo which rivals all of the main coffee chain stores offerings. the crema on the top of the espresso it makes is really thick . You can make two espressos at one time or one depending on the size of the filter cup you use. Included is a coffee machine a coffee scoop ., tamper and instruction manual. to use fill the water tank with cold water, let it heat up, fill the coffee filter with coffee, press the button and hot espresso comes out. Heat the milk using the milk frother- all included in the instruction manual!

This is my first espresso machine so I may not be on the best position to comment. But after seeing the prices on other machines -- even other Gaggias -- I know that this one was a real bargain. In fact I bought 3 of them to give as gifts. Everyone loved it but developed their own way of making froth. Mine was to throw away the "special" patented wand and use the end of the pipe. I found that gave the best froth if you learned how to dip and undip it.

This gaggia espresso machine makes the finest coffee. Not to strong but has the finest taste using the Presidents choice brand of espresso.

I have had 4 different espresso machines, this is the latest and greatest, it is one of my favourite possessions and I think it is absolutely superb. The machine has a classic/traditional look which I love. The Gaggia logo badge finishes the machines look well. I have the polished chrome plated version of this machine. It has big solid illuminated switches which are clearly laid out on the front of the machine.

In using this machine I notice the high quality of the components and the machine overall. The chrome plated solid brass filter holder has a reassuringly heavy feel to it. Being solid brass the components hold the heat very well. There are 2 stainless steel filters to use for different strengths/amounts of espresso. It has a large removable water tank which holds 2.1 litres of water.
This machine has a powerful 15 bar pump with a solenoid valve which makes a truly great espresso with a good thick cremá. You can switch the machine to the steam mode and after a short delay the steam ready light will illuminate. It will then give a powerful amount of steam which steams and froths milk very quickly and gives great results every time for cappuccino or latté. The cup warming tray on top of the machine is useful and easily accommodates 5 espresso cups.

I use the machine several times every day and it performs flawlessly every time. It really is built to last. I have had Krups espresso machine previously which worked fine for about 16 months until some of the plastic parts cracked. All of the parts which receive use on this machine are heavy duty.

I would recommend this machine to anyone wanting the best quality espresso and cappuccino in the home with an equally impressive machine to match.
